In Augusta, Georgia, when people talk of going to the lake it is Lake Thurmond (or Clark’s Hill Lake) that is meant. We have been going to this lake since around 2009 when we bought a house on its South Carolina shores. A large lake with an area of more than 110 square miles the J. Strom Thurmond dam of the Savannah River is what started it all. Below are a few of the images that I took with my DJI Inspire 1 drone in February of 2016. I once was talking with a man who remembers driving a dump truck hauling cut trees in the 1950’s when he was 13. He said you could drive trucks at that age back then.
