I expect that there will be marketing mantras at that point as well. What will their logos be? The non-GMO project might refer to the non-God modified organisms, or non-Christian certified. “No Christians benefited during or from the manufacture of this product.” The Babylonian dominance will require this type of certification for goods to be sold. It will not be net-neutral. It will be the opposite, more like net-controlled.
Devil-derived dictates are deceitful
These wicked motivations will deceive the world. The very thing that the world needs is engagement to a good, benevolent, loving God. Followers of that God are his representatives on his earth. Life lived inside his parameters, his paradigm is the way to eternal life. That is also a thing very good for the environment, the ecology of the world.
Babylon’s devil-derived dictates are deceitful. The world will gobble up what Babylon says and become sicker and sicker. It is like being fed poison little by little so that that poisoner is not found out, but the victim still dies.
Some may decry the anti-Christian certifications, but in the end I fully expect what Charles Fishman said about Walmart will be born out. People will prefer price to ethics. They may know and be sympathetic with the Christian next door, but sympathy will not extend all the way to the pocket book. There will probably be a bounty on Christians anyway so turned in and eliminated will likely be another economic motivation.
The nations are deceived by Babylon’s sorcery, her economic and otherwise slight of hand. Tell the world that all ills are because of Christian influence. What happens? People believe it. Christians suffer, non-Christians do not accept God’s payment for their sins, many are damned. Satan is pleased. All is on a bad down-slope.
Now for verse 24
The current of wickedness
In the middle of the 20th Century there existed a strong current of belief in the Presidency. There stood a great institution and one that was not corrupt, or so went the American imagination. As Truman was replaced by Eisenhower and then he by Kennedy things were lost albeit slowly. When Kennedy himself was lost and President Johnson assumed the top role in America acceleration of skepticism really set in further exacerbated his proclamations and style. As if being enmeshed in the murk and mire of Vietnam was not enough Nixon further ran the office into the ground with the Watergate revelations. America’s confidence of her own purity hit a new low.
I am not trying to set up America as Babylon. It is foolish to make prophetic interpretations of prophecies God has told. Trust, don’t guess is the better approach to those things.
What I am trying to do is point out from our own experience as a country how a look under the hood can reveal the unexpected. The unexpected, though, still remains. Just because you did not know there were termites in your rafters does not make the rafters strong. When you find out bad news like that the roof may still cave in.
