What if you are on the younger side of the spectrum? Don’t forget Timothy or even Mary the mother of Jesus (she was probably but a teenager). Both of these had unlikely traits and yet God still pushed “play” on their lives and the impact they had.
Will you be able to predict just how he will use you? Probably not. My sense is that you you should read your Bible, live God’s way, don’t do it your way. Live righteously and when you look back over your life you will smile and know, God did well.
Joash was another story. His train went off the rails. He did not read the book of the covenant that Jehoiada gave him when he was 7 years old, or if he did then he did not take it to heart. He let all of his advantages fall by the wayside.
Jehoiada was not tasked with ensuring the future of Joash. He was tasked with setting the stage, and he did so. Joash did evil. Jehoiada did well, so well that he was a national figure and was buried in the Tombs of the Kings, where Joash would not even find a resting place.
